The Shougang Basketball Center, located at No. 159 Fushi Road, Shijingshan District, Beijing, was officially put into use in December 2001. It is a comprehensive sports venue built in conjunction with the bidding process for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The design symbolizes a "blue sea whale," and the venue covers an area of 25,000 square meters.
